Venue

Situated in the west of Scotland, LA Bowl, Ayr is one of Scotland’s most respected bowling centres.

Ayr is a popular seaside town on the west coast of Scotland and sits on the South West Coastal 300 route. As well as having some of the best bowling facilities, it’s a great place to relax.  It has a beautiful sandy beach which is the perfect place for a stroll, and on a clear day you can see the Isle of Arran or even the north coast of Ireland.

Group Divisions

The Triple Crown consists of 2 teams of 6 athletes (men and women).

Athletes must be 50 years of age in the year of the tournament.

Format

  • Singles – 4 games
  • Doubles – 4 games
  • Trios – 4 games
  • Mixed Doubles/Teams – 4 games
  • Masters (top 8 men/women) – Round Robin

16 games over the Triple Crown. The tournament will be run under the general tournament and playing rules of EBF and the Triple Crown

The Team Manager’s meeting will be held in Ayr. Venue TBA

Propose date/ time – Wednesday 24th April at 19:30.

A reminder that each country is should bring 2 flags for opening and medal ceremonies.

Playing Rules

The Tournament will be run under the general tournament and playing rules of the Triple Crown and EBF.

Practice

Each team (men/women) will have 2 lanes for official practice for 1 hour. The cost of official practice will be included in the overall per team cost. Additional practice can be booked at a fee of £22.50 per lane per hour.

Practice times between 1400 till 1600 and 1630 till 1830 on Wednesday 24th April

All practice will be played on the official pattern.

Victory Banquet

The Fairfield Hotel KA7 2AR, (between The Bowl and the Sea Front).

 Time: 1900 for 1930 at £32 per ticket.

Fees

The entry fee for the event is £520 per team (of six, pro-rata).  This includes:

  • Qualifying and masters bowling
  • 1 hr official practice (extra time at £22.50 per lane per hour)

A banquet ticket must be purchased for athletes/coaches/team managers separately.

Spectator entry and car-parking at the venue is free.

Bank Details will be sent out following country registration.

Travel

Ayr is situated in the south-west of Scotland, off the A77. The closest airports are Prestwick Airport (15 mins) and Glasgow Airport (45 mins), and Edinburgh Airport (1hr 30 mins).
