YTC 2026 Information

Venue

The 2026 Youth Triple Crown will be held at LA Bowl, Ayr, from Thursday 27th to Monday 31st August 2026.

As hosts of the 2026 Youth Triple Crown, Scottish Tenpin Bowling are delighted to welcome competitors from Scotland, England, Ireland and Iceland.

Group Divisions

The Triple Crown consists of teams of four athletes in the following categories:

Boys

  • Under 16
  • Under 19

Girls

  • Under 16
  • Under 19

For Under 16 – athletes must not have reached the age of 16 on 31st August 2026.

For Under 19 – athletes must not have reached the age of 19 on 31st August 2026.

An age exception has been agreed for Iceland.

Official Practice

Practice slots run from 14:00 to 18:30 on Thursday 27th August and must be booked in advance.

One lane for one hour per team is included in the team entry fee. Additional practice lanes were available to book separately at £20 per lane per hour.

Team Manager’s Meeting

The Team Manager Meeting will be held at LA Bowl on Thursday 27th August at 19:00.

Playing Rules

The tournament will be run under the general tournament and playing rules of the EBF and the Triple Crown.

Bowling Balls

  • Bowling balls are limited to 6 balls per athlete during the tournament.
  • Registration forms will be provided – the deadline for balls to be registered is before play starts on Friday morning, 28th August. Random checks will be made during the tournament.
  • STB’s bowling ball 78D hardness rule applies at the 2026 YTC. Any ball listed on the ineligible ball list should not be in play.
  • Should a non-eligible ball be inadvertently used, it will be removed from play immediately. If the same athlete plays with another non-eligible ball, game scores where this ball was used may be nulled.
  • No hardness checks will be carried out by STB on bowling balls.

Hotels and Transfers

Hotel bookings have been confirmed and are handled separately from tournament entry.

For Scotland and Ireland, staying at the Premier Inn (Ayr Racecourse), bus transfers to LA Bowl have been arranged for Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning, with a return on Sunday afternoon ahead of the banquet.

Public transport will be used for return transfers to the Premier Inn on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, allowing options for dinner in the town. Bus schedules will be provided; there are frequent services on the route.

Celebration Banquet

The Celebration Banquet will be held on Sunday 30th August at:

Pick-ups from the hotels will begin at 19:00 (more than one trip), with dinner served from 19:45. Transfers are included for teams and officials between the team hotels and the banquet.

Additional banquet tickets for supporters and additional officials are available at £35 each.

Fees

Team entry (4 players) – £560 per team (pro rata for part teams).

The entry fee includes:

  • Bowling lineage (15 games)
  • Celebration banquet – 4 athletes plus 1 coach per team
  • Practice bowling – 1 lane / 1 hour per team (additional payable)

Spectator entry is welcome at LA Bowl throughout the tournament.

Travel

Ayr is on the south-west coast of Scotland, around 40 miles from Glasgow. The closest airport is Glasgow Prestwick (approximately 10 minutes), with Glasgow International around 50 minutes away.

Ayr is served by regular direct trains from Glasgow Central, and LA Bowl is a short distance from Ayr town centre.
